I was travelling this week with a group I'd never met, and something struck me.

We were all talking over dinner and breakfast and different meals and meet-ups about stuff that's going on in the world and what's happening, but everybody gets their information from a million different places.

It was always back in the day when I was growing up that the information came from the newspaper in the 10 o'clock news, but now everybody is getting it from everywhere in their own little microcosm, in their own little bubble.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is definitely a thing, and so the different viewpoints around the table are really hard to align and really hard to bring in to check because everybody is getting their information from their personalised stream.

So, it's not that people shouldn't be able to do that, but it breeds individuality and the rights of the individual over the rights of the group.

Everybody becomes defensive over their own bubble, and nobody, it seems, can see the bigger picture for the greater good.

The world has moved in the last 20 years towards entirely individualistic; indeed, the West has particularly moved in this way.

The death of society is upon us, and it's time to push back and decide what provides the greatest good for the greatest amount of people, not really what provides the most money, safety and security for just me.
