Why Year Two in Scotland

Advanced implant training, without a year of travelling south

For the first time, in 2027, we are running the Year Two Implant Course in Scotland. It is the same curriculum, the same faculty standard and the same ITI Intermediate Certificate as Nottingham. The difference is that 11 of the 15 days are taught in Dundee and Glasgow, with your clinical days on your own patients in Glasgow.

Course outline

From straightforward to complex implant dentistry

The Year Two Implant Course is the second stage of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, developed in partnership with the ITI. It gives dentists with a foundation in straightforward implant dentistry a launchpad into more advanced and complex treatments, aesthetics, sinus grafting and CBCT.

Across 15 days, you will work toward our philosophy of a three to five year pathway to implant excellence, placing a minimum of 50 implants a year. Two clinical days let you take on advanced cases under the supervision of our experienced faculty.

The Scotland cohort follows the same programme as Nottingham. Eleven of the 15 days are taught in Dundee and Glasgow, across seven visits between March and December 2027.

Day one sets up the year ahead: moving up from straightforward cases, the pitfalls to avoid, selecting your patients for the clinical days, CBCT scans and software, and treatment planning.

Day two is the Consultation Masterclass, covering the system Colin uses to convert over 75% of new patient consultations, and the clinical, psychological, social and business elements of the dental consultation.

A competency-based course on CBCT principles and reporting. Part two follows in November, with scans to report on and detailed feedback in between.

A well-established clinical protocol for predictable aesthetic implant restorations in the anterior maxilla, including a live surgical demonstration.

Bring your own patients and carry out straightforward or advanced implant placements under faculty supervision.

The greatest possible exposure to sinus grafting procedures in a course environment, across three days of teaching and hands-on work.

A second clinical day carrying out advanced placements on your own patients, followed by part two of the CBCT Live Skills course, where you review the scans you have reported on since April.

The final module, held at The Campbell Academy in Nottingham. A multidisciplinary day, your exam, and case presentations and discussion, all required for completing the ITI Intermediate Certificate in Implant Dentistry.

Can't make the March visit to Nottingham?

We can live stream the opening two days if travelling to Nottingham in March is difficult for you. The final module in December is in person at The Campbell Academy, and attendance there is required to complete the ITI Intermediate Certificate. Talk to us and we will work it out with you.

Year Two is the second stage of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, a structured route from straightforward cases to advanced and finally complex. You do not have to complete all three years. You can stop at any point and keep the certification you have earned to that level.

Classroom modules and the hands-on live skills courses are taught in Dundee, and both supervised clinical days are in Glasgow. That accounts for 11 of the 15 days.

Four, across two visits. The opening two days on 4 and 5 March 2027, and the final two days on 2 and 3 December 2027. Every other day of the course is in Scotland.

Yes, we can live stream the first two days in March if travelling to Nottingham is difficult. The final module in December is in person only, because the exam and case presentations are part of completing the ITI Intermediate Certificate.

Yes. Same curriculum, same 15 days, same ITI alignment and the same ITI Intermediate Level Certificate on completion. The difference is where it is taught and who teaches the Scottish modules.

No. You need competence in straightforward implant dentistry, which usually means our Year One Implant Course in Scotland, Nottingham or Ireland, or an equivalent course elsewhere. If you are not sure whether your experience is a fit, get in touch and we will talk it through.

An advanced implant dentistry course, stage two of our Curriculum in Implant Dentistry, designed to further the skills and knowledge of delegates already competent with straightforward implant dentistry.

Sinus grafting, guided bone regeneration, anterior aesthetic cases, soft-tissue management and CBCT, with comprehensive education and hands-on training across multiple aspects of implant dentistry.

It aligns closely with the ITI curriculum and prepares delegates to work toward the ITI Intermediate Certificate in Implant Dentistry, and, if desired, the ITI Diploma.

You bring your own patients to Glasgow and carry out straightforward or advanced implant placements under the supervision of our faculty. You select those patients during the opening module in March.
