We all have reasons to do things to get things done, to complete tasks to do our work.
Lots of people's reasons are different.
Most of the time, though, it can be filtered back down to before it's too late.
That can be before it's too late and the bank takes your house, or before it's too late and you can't pay for your shopping at Tesco, or before it's too late and your presentation won't be ready for your lecture or your speech or before it's too late and your boss will shout at you.
But ultimately, the main 'before it's too late' are things that we cannot account for, and we don't know when they'll happen.
We only understand that it was too late after it's too late.
Understanding this means that you can get shit done, and you can get going with the motivation behind you.
Understanding that one day you will wake up and realise that it is too late and wish you'd already done those things gets you moving.
It's probably better to start now than wait until you wake up that day.
