The Online Dental Implant Nursing Course

An introduction to dental implant nursing, designed by Nurses, for Nurses.

The Campbell Academy’s Online Dental Implant Nursing Course has been designed by nurses, for nurses!

This introductory course has been created specifically for like-minded and ambitious individuals keen to participate in an innovative and unique training experience for dental nurses. The course has been exclusively created and developed by The Campbell Clinic's exceptional team of (implant) dental nurses to support, nurture and guide dental nurses who are new to implant dentistry in their practice.

The content covered across each of the modules is designed to guide and stretch dental nurses. This includes eight projects that will develop attendees' skills and knowledge for their career development and to be utilised in practice.

The entire course is completed online on The Campbell Academy's Learning Management System and Slack channel. This provides an extremely flexible format for attendees meaning they can complete the weekly learning content at a time that suits them.

The course capacity is limited to 20 and is suited to Qualified Dental Nurses with no experience or limited exposure to implant dentistry in general practice.

New call-to-action

Why this course and why now?

For many years, we have delivered implant training for dentists. However, throughout this time we have been asked by our friends and colleagues to introduce training intended specifically for nurses who are new to implant dentistry.

We now believe we are in the perfect position to introduce this new online course! This is due to both the academic knowledge of the faculty in addition to their practical, day-to-day exposure to implant surgery through working for a dental practice specifically designed for this type of treatment.

FAQs

How is the course content delivered?

The course will be delivered through two platforms. Firstly, our Learning Management System will store prerecorded lecture content that will be released to you every week. Secondly, there will be a dedicated course Slack channel where you can communicate with your peers and receive coaching support throughout the five weeks. Additionally, each module will have an Academy faculty member assigned as the coach, who will be available to answer any questions you may have about the module.

What if I am away/on holiday for one of the weeks?

The course has been intentionally designed to offer maximum flexibility. If you happen to be away for one of the weeks or fall behind slightly, it's not a problem. You will have the opportunity to catch up, and we will provide you with access to the Learning Management System for six weeks after the final day of the program.

Becky has been a dental nurse for 19 years and has worked for The Campbell Clinic for 10 years. She has a qualification in BDA radiography, implant impression, and photography. Adding to the list she is a NEBDN qualified implant dental nurse. This has enabled her to become the surgical team leader, supporting the other nurses.

Becky predominantly works with the implant team, supporting them, ordering components, and planning the cases with the clinicians. Her specialist interest is to learn all the digital side of the industry.

Becky runs the Diagnostic Nurse Lead clinic, which is currently 2 afternoons of IOS scans, CBCTs, consents, and sedation assessments, ready for the clinician to start their planning process.

Becky enjoys this side of the role, speaking to many different people, and is looking forward to many more years expanding her role, with a fantastic team.

Brooke Stanley-Jackson

Implant Nurse

Brooke began her dental nursing career in 2012 and gained her NEBDN diploma in dental nursing in 2014. Following this, she went straight on to complete her BDA certificate in dental radiography enabling her to take X-rays of patients. Brooke spent many years working in general private practice before wanting to learn something more.

She joined the team here at The Campbell Clinic in 2020. Shortly after joining, Brooke identified her keen interest in dental implant nursing and nursing for complex surgical cases and she gained a NEBDN certificate in dental implant nursing. Her main reason for this interest is to see the transformation and how truly life-changing these treatments can be for patients. Her all-time favourite treatment to be involved in is IFAL. This is a long and complex day for all, but nothing beats seeing the reaction on patients' faces when they look at their new smiles. Some patients have searched for years to find somewhere that can provide them with a smile they feel confident with, so seeing that transformation is gratifying.

Because of her keen interest in this area, Brooke went on to complete my NEBDN certificate in dental implant nursing. She has been a dental nurse for over 10 years now and has found implant dentistry by far the most enjoyable aspect of dentistry. She is able to be very involved in patients' appointments, taking CBCTs, and giving pre and post-operative advice, and she finds it great to be so hands-on.

Outside of work, Brooke enjoys walking her cocker spaniel Ozzy, with her husband, traveling to new places and she is also a massive foodie.
