Colin has been a dentist for almost 30 years and has been involved with the ITI for 25 years and he’s been a business owner and director for 15 years.

Clinically, Colin has placed over 6000 dental implants and provided thousands of lectures to educate colleagues in implant dentistry and other clinical matters. He has also worked extensively as a medical-legal expert witness.

In the past 15 years, Colin has set up three separate dental businesses as start-ups, building one business to success and then selling and developing two further businesses, one as The Campbell Clinic, a clinical specialist dental practice and the second, The Campbell Academy, a clinical education business.

During this time, these businesses have grown over 20 times and Colin has lectured extensively on matters related to dental business, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Colin is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a senior fellow of the ITI and a fellow of the College of General Dentistry (UK).

Hayley Brown is a qualified dental nurse who has worked side by side with Colin since she was a trainee in 2006 (17 years).

She moved to work at The Campbell Clinic in 2009 to become the senior dental implant nurse and quickly became the practice manager and ultimately the managing director/CEO of The Campbell Clinic Group.

Hayley now oversees the strategic direction of a business which turns over £5 million per year with 55 staff and is expected to double in the next five years.

Much of the success of The Campbell Clinic Group over the past 10 years has been due to the exceptional management and leadership of Hayley Brown.

Hayley's areas of expertise include human asset management (human resources), operational management and direction, and financial management and direction.

Hayley has completed level seven (masters) education in management and business.

She lives in Nottingham with her husband and two young children.

From that time, Tom has progressed to become the director of The Campbell Academy and the Education and Marketing Director of The Campbell Clinic Group and has secured a First-Class Honours in Digital Marketing with Nottingham Trent.

Tom is an expert in digital dental marketing having been responsible for leading a team of five people to provide all aspects of digital and non-digital marketing for The Campbell Clinic and Campbell Academy.

Tom has now lectured extensively to different dental professionals to assist them in their marketing strategies and works closely with some of The Campbell Clinic's commercial partners in helping them with their overall marketing strategies and implementation.

He went on to study dentistry and then to open several dental practices and build a group of two dental practices which he successfully sold to a DSO (dental service organisation) in 2022.

Alex is a hugely skilled clinician in surgery and restorative, has placed and restored thousands of dental implants, and is a particular expert in immediate full arch loading.

Alex gained tremendous experience in the setting up development and ultimate sale of the dental businesses he was part of and joined The Campbell Clinic team as clinical director in 2023.

The Dental Entrepreneurial Bootcamp begins online one month before the onsite days at The Campbell Academy. During this online phase, we will introduce participants to the course structure, fellow participants, and faculty members. The initial learning module will also be released to set the foundation for Bootcamp.

Following this Onboarding period, participants will meet for an intense and exceptional five-day experience at The Campbell Academy in Nottingham. This onsite component delivers an outstanding learning environment and empowers delegates to elevate their businesses to new heights. Pre Course Online Onboarding
Onboarding 
Delegates will receive an online introduction that sets the tone for the whole course and outlines its logistics. They will also have access to the course communication platform Slack to begin getting to know the other course delegates and faculty.
 
Module 1: Vision Setting
The first module will be delivered online. This module examines Simon Sinek's TED Talk, 'Start with Why,' as a tool to establish a business's future vision and explore how to create a strategy to achieve that vision. Module 1 helps attendees produce a compelling mission statement that will resonate with their staff and customers.
Day 1: Vision Setting and Finance
Module 1 (continued): Vision Setting
Day 1 of the course will begin by completing the Vision Setting module.
 
Module 2: Finance
The Finance Module provides attendees with the necessary tools and knowledge to acquire valuable insights into their business's financial complexities. Module content to include:

- Key financial metrics and definitions.
- Understanding the difference (and importance) of retrospective analysis, prospective analysis and forecasting.
- Associate contracts and models.
- Financial levers: Which financial levers can we influence, and how will they impact business performance?
- Presentation of The Campbell Clinic financial dashboard, and delegate hands-on practical creating and utilising their own version of this dashboard.
Day 2: Finance and Marketing
Module 2: Finance
Day 2 of the course will begin with completing the Finance Module.
 
Module 3: Marketing

The remainder of Day 2 focuses on the Marketing Module. This module draws on proven tactics from The Campbell Academy and The Campbell Clinic, where participants will understand how to build effective marketing campaigns to enhance their brand, attract new patients, and ultimately fill their sales pipeline. Module content to include:

 

- Introduction to the current marketing landscape.

- Understanding your market - customers, competitors, and the wider environment.

- How do you build a recognisable, likeable, and trustworthy brand?

- 'Ideas that spread win' - the importance of Word of Mouth marketing.

- Digital Marketing Essentials including the dental website, search engine optimisation, online reputation management and email marketing.

- Advanced Digital Marketing including social media, paid ads and content marketing.

- Community-based and offline/traditional marketing.

- Controlling your marketing campaigns - budget, team, metrics and return on investment.

Day 3: Sales, HR and Leadership
Module 4: Sales
Day 3 begins with the Sales module. This module examines how best to build your Customer Relationship Management system. Module content to include:

- Customer relationship management - methods available to automate or record CRM.
- Setting your pricing: How to set your prices, ensuring profitability and continued success
- The Consultation and the role of the Treatment Coordinator (TCO)
- Follow up: Our structure to maximise conversions from new consultations.
- Measuring sales: Determining the metrics you should be measuring.
 
 
Module 5: HR and Leadership
Following the Sales Module, we will explore HR and Leadership. This module aims to first equip delegates with the necessary tools and strategies to optimise human resources within their organisation and, secondly, enhance their leadership capabilities to help them navigate the complexities of leading a modern dental business. Module content to include:

- A discussion and explanation of different leadership styles
- The Employee Handbook and our offering: Pay structures and recruitment.
- Appraisal structures and format
- Performance management 
- Organisational charts
Day 4: HR and Leadership, and Strategy
Module 5: HR and Leadership Continued
Day 4 of the course will begin with completing the HR and Leadership Module.
 
Module 6: Strategy
For Module 6, delegates will discuss how to plan strategically to see constant improvement in their business. Delegates will gain the skills and knowledge to create a robust strategic plan that drives continuous improvement and sustainable growth. This culminates in producing a comprehensive business plan, which delegates will present on the final day of the course. This final project helps delegates bring together what they learned from the week into an actionable plan for their dental practice. Module content to include:
 
- Building of strategic plans utilising our templartes
- PEST Analysis
- Competitor analysis
- SWOT analysis 
Day 5: Presentation of Strategic Plans
Module 7

On the final day of the course, delegates will conclude by refining and presenting their strategic plans. This day combines the learning and completed projects accumulated throughout the week, consolidating them into a tangible and actionable blueprint ready for immediate implementation within their respective practices. This final stage ensures that participants absorb theoretical knowledge and translate it into practical, real-world strategies, which they can implement immediately.

Course Evenings

We will host working dinners on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. These sessions are crucial parts of the course, allowing delegates to foster informal discussions, network, and exchange insights to help complete the course projects. We designed these working dinners to complement the formal course curriculum, offering a relaxed setting where participants can gain additional value from the collective expertise of the diverse group of attendees.
