Sleeping out

For reasons of shyness or not wanting to seem like an arrogant pr*ck, we don't often sing hard and loud about the stuff that we do for social legacy and causes more substantial and greater than our own, but on this occasion, I think we'll do a little bit.

One of the four main charities that we associate with in the practice that benefit from a 1% of turnover for social legacy is Framework.

There is a link here to more information about Framework.

Framework has been an extraordinary partner with The Campbell Clinic and Campbell Academy, and we are so proud to be associated with them.

They work tirelessly for people who have nowhere to live, to help them reintegrate into some system that is just a little bit better and, maybe, a little bit healthier and perhaps a little bit safer.

One of the extraordinary things the Framework has done is to build houses for people to come off the street so that they might have an address so that they may be able to start to function a little bit more in the absolute spider web of society that we have.

They continue to bring people through those houses and to build more homes to do this. They are making a substantial positive difference to people in Nottingham and, in fact, to our whole society in Nottingham.

When we were working with Framework and deciding what might happen to the money that we wanted to donate as partners, we wanted something tangible that we could tell people that we could say, "This is what we did in order to help", and so we bought the windows for many of the houses.

So that's just a little thing.

Someone else would have probably bought the windows, or they may have found the money from somewhere else, but those are the windows we bought.

The work that our team does and the way we look after people contributed just a little bit to the windows in the houses to keep people warm and dry.

We think that is an extraordinary story.

On the 7th of October, Framework are hosting a big sleepout at Nottingham Racecourse.

It's the opportunity for people to raise awareness for their work in a carnival sort of atmosphere but to sleep outside overnight.

No one is suggesting that this will give anyone any insight into what it's like to be living on the street.

But it's a gesture.

It's a statement.

It's a position of solidarity with people who have much less than us.

Kath, Millie, Marie, Hayley and Laura are taking to the Racecourse and sleeping out overnight to help raise money.

And so, if you have any spare coppers and we've ever been of any help to you over and above that which you should expect of us, I'd really be grateful if you'd click below and give us a little bit of money towards Framework.

The link is here.

Even better, though, if you find yourself free that evening, why don't you join the guys? They'd appreciate the company.
