If tomorrows not the due date...

…then today is not the due date.

My daughter, Grace, taught me this, and it's how our minds work.

I can schedule all the time that you like, three weeks before the deadline, to spend hours on getting something beautiful or brilliant, but my character just doesn't like that.

And so, in that beautifully scheduled time three weeks before I do something else.

I'll leave it till the day before, the night before or the morning of, and it's worked all right so far, but it's unlikely that it's going to change a lot from now.

I find myself doing that with the projects I have at the moment, one of which is designing an online education portal, not for the ITI, but for The Campbell Clinic to be launched at the same time that we launch Unit Four, which is our brand new practice next door.

And so, what I wanted to do to guide the project that we run on our project management software, Asana, was to put together an overall and overarching project plan to guide everybody on this little project team in the practice.

And so, today, I put two hours aside to do that, and in the last 30 minutes, I'll do it quickly.

That's how it works for me and might not work for you.

Probably the best thing to do is to find someone who's brilliant at doing it slowly and someone who's brilliant at doing it quickly and add those two together to get the perfect match.
