The 90 second job

Leaving the house yesterday morning, and I was already late, but I hadn't brushed my teeth.

Do I go back upstairs and brush my teeth, or do I get to work and pretend that I'll brush my teeth with a toothbrush at work?

Do I have the 90 seconds to do the job that needs to be done?

The same thing applies when I make my lunch before I come to work.

My wife is amazing at keeping me healthy, so there's always stuff available to make something quickly, which is healthy to take to work. But do I have the 90 seconds to do that?

The same the night before, when things are good, I always make my breakfast the night before, soaked oats, frozen Cherries, or some other fruit in the fridge; just pick it out in the morning and eat it, but when I'm tired, 90 seconds seems the longest time in the world.

It's bizarre, isn't it, when we look down the face of small jobs or multiple small jobs, that it's hard to get over the hump of tiredness or lethargy or the lizard brain telling you just to go to bed or just to watch the TV.

Building strategies, habits, and structures that allow you to get all of these little 90-second jobs done adds up to a better, brighter, more fulfilled, and more effective life.

Getting more of the little things done gets more of the very big things done.
