Some resources...

So, inevitably The Campbell Academy and the work that we do brings forwards some resources that you could utilise during the downtime of the lock down or at a later stage. Whilst I appreciate that you are wading through webinars from every man and his dog at the present time, I wanted to share with you some possibilities which you could be interested in, to make you just a little bit better at the other side of this and to offer some much needed, honest and realistic community.

1) My friend and Co-director in the Academy Andy Legg, will be presenting an online webinar on Full Arch Reconstruction for the ITI on the 16th April. I don’t know anyone who knows of the options of immediate full arch reconstruction better than Andy and he’s someone who’s certainly not a one trick pony. Andy will take people through the options for a edentulous patient in a brilliant structure, with some fantastic cases and give you something that you can take straight back into practice when you open again (this is the same platform that later in the month, we’ll have Daniel Buser doing a live webinar).

2)Our ITI study clubs continue to run and the next one is in June with Sebastian Kühl from the University of Basel. This will now likely be opened out as a national webinar for the ITI, but it’s based in the Nottingham and Grantham ITI study clubs between myself and my friend Jason Wong. Sebastian will provide an evening ITI study club covering Zirconia implants and also short dental implants. This is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever come across in implant dentistry and it’s a pleasure to work with him in any way (he also used to play for Borussia Dortmund as a professional footballer, so is a fascinating guy) ITI study clubs are free for members and also free for anyone who has not yet attended two study clubs. If you’re interested this please email info@campbellacademy.co.uk and we will sort it out.

3)During the day before the evening of the ITI study club, Sebastian will present a Campbell Academy Master Class on Guided Implant Surgery based on the Co-Diagnostics platform. This is a professor of oral surgery from the University of Basel, who implemented guided surgery throughout his entire department and set up protocols for everyone to be able to use this and then measured outcomes related to the procedures. He is an international podium speaker on the subject and a researcher and will provide four and a half hours of extraordinary Master Class teaching for anyone who’s interested in pushing their skills forwards in this area, for more information click here

3) The same format of ITI study club in the evening and a Master Class during the day will be carried forwards later in the year, so The Campbell Academy and the Nottingham and Grantham study clubs with Vincent Fehmer. Vincent is a wonderful man and perhaps one of the best Dental Technicians in the world today, if you want to put this date in your diary, we’re really hoping that it will be a face to face Master Class and ITI study club.

4) The now, long running, and very successful Campbell Academy CBCT Master Class, with part 1 on the 23rd&24th of April and part 2 on the 1st October with Michael Bornstein, Andrew Legg and myself. This is a competency based CBCT teaching course over three days, the first two days providing theory and structured reporting techniques for CBCT followed by a third day later in the year where we review the ‘homework’ of 20 scans that have been reported to demonstrate CBCT competency. This is one of the only CBCT competency based courses around and was the original one in the UK, Michael Bornstein has written all the guidelines for CBCT for the United States, Europe and for the ITI and provides an exceptional insight, to provide wonderful training for anyone who wishes to push their ability to report CBCT to a new level.

If you have a Planmeca CBCT, there is support available for discounted rates on this course through the wonderful guys at Planmeca, for more information the course details are here or email info@campbellacademy.co.uk

In discussion with various individuals, I have decided that we'll put the idea out there that we run an abbreviated Business Course in October 2020.

‘Building The Modern Independent Dental Practice’ is one of my favourite courses to provide and one of our most successful, but in the current times and current environment some people might realise that they need some very fast track help and restructuring in redesigning their business model in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic. In my mind this will be a 5 day Monday-Friday hugely intensive business course, with teaching and workshops during the day and projects and homework sessions every evening, the course will encompass internal and external speakers providing finance structure, marketing, HR & operations, sale, leadership and strategic planning. I would expect you’ll be able to walk out of the course on the Friday with your business plan for the next three years. It will be restricted to small numbers (as our courses always are) and will not be for the faint-hearted, if you are interested in attending this course it will be for two people from each practice, ideally two partners or a partner and a practice manager, email  info@campbellacademy.co.uk and we will secure your place.

Finally, I’ve just written a forward for a new Straumann document providing support and advice on getting everyone back up and running after this crisis. I will be doing two Webinars for Straumann in the coming weeks, on the topic of Business and sharing insights into how hard it’s been for us and what our strategies have been to try and move forwards. If you are interested in these, please keep an eye on the blog, dates to follow...

Look forward to seeing you guys soon, thanks for all the support over the last few weeks!
