Re-visiting an old Holiday Idea

I wrote about this a few years ago and I am going to repeat myself again to give anyone who reads this with a family a chance to find out an amazing place to go on holiday.

From the 5th to the 15th of August we were in Marina De VeneziaWhy would I write about my family holiday and suggest it to other people? Simply because it is absolutely fantastic.

I think this might be the 10th or 11th time we have been there and we now go with another family too.

We stay in a static caravan, this is good because there are 5 of us and getting holidays for 5 is a little bit more difficult. It’s not expensive to go to Marina De Venezia as far as summer family holidays go. You fly to Venice (we fly from Birmingham) and then it’s an hour to the park that sits on the lido opposite Venice on the Adriatic Coast. What is good about this holiday?

  1. It is as safe as safe can be for the children and that is one of the most important things
  2. Our caravan is approximately 4 minutes from one of the most beautiful beaches you are likely to see, where you can walk half a mile out to sea at waist depth.
  3. The beach bars on the beach are absolutely fantastic (it’s a private beach for the campsite only)
  4. You can drink 2 pints of beer on the beach everyday like Mike and I did
  5. The swimming pools are utterly incredible including a 50m 9 lane Olympic swimming pool, amongst many others
  6. The ice cream is extraordinary
  7. The take away pizzas are extraordinary
  8. The pasta restaurant is extraordinary
  9. You can hire a tandem (see the next blog tomorrow)

At this stage in life, with children aging between 15 and 9, I don’t feel it is essential that I go to a different place every single summer and I don’t feel I have let anybody down if I don’t. I am on holiday the minute I set foot in Marina De Venezia and in fact the week before I am just imaging what it’s going to be like again. Its not luxury, but it is absolutely just the perfect amount of everything (I even came back from holiday the same weight I went). If you are looking for (what we believe) is the best format for a family holiday in the world, then why not have a look and book for next year.
