Hacked

A few weeks ago, I was doing a bit of a competitor analysis on somebody's education website in Switzerland for my ITI Academy job. I realised that the whole discussion page on the website was related to buying inflatable sex dolls; every comment for about 30 comments.

I contacted my friend, who's an extremely famous and high-up dentist in the world of implant dentistry, and said, "Oh, by the way, you know, your page has been hacked", and he was, of course, horrified and went about trying to fix it.

I never looked again to see if it was because it's just the way of things, although I did have a wry smile to myself at the thought of going on to this highly acclaimed education website with the possibility of buying something genuine and authentic in that department.

And so fast forward a few weeks, and I got a text from one of my friends saying either your man boobs are developing well or your Twitter feed has been hacked (obviously, I live in the Twitter world, not in the X world).

I can't access the account at all, and apparently, there is a video on it of a lady demonstrating her physical abilities, but the truth is I've not even logged into the Twitter/X account for the longest time because it's just a place for the blog to post, for people to see if they are keen to read it on a format that suits them.

I haven't put a comment on Twitter for years and years and haven't logged in for the longest time, so when I contacted what is now X and asked them about sorting this out because my password doesn't work, and my retrieval details have been changed, and they said it will take 2 to 3 days to sort it out.

So, I guess the moral of the story is "There but for the grace of God go I", and nobody really gives the monkeys if somebody hacks your Twitter feed and puts a picture of an attractive lady with no clothes on.

It's probably more entertaining than some of the blogs I write, and I'm sure people might appreciate it more.

I have other things to think about that are more important, and this will be sorted out in a minute.

In the past, it would have stressed me out to high heaven because it may have affected my brand, but you know what? I don't know that I have a brand, and certainly nobody gives a monkeys if my X feed has been hacked.

Good luck to whoever did it.

I'm sure it was a bot from somewhere far away, and regular service will be resumed just about as soon as X decides it is at the top of the to-do list.
