The path from here to there...

Colin
by Colin on 03/11/16 18:00

...is usually over sh*t you never saw!

To get from here to a better place is usually over swamp of crap that you never anticipated. This has been the case countless times for me when i've tried to get to a better place, either as an individual or with organisations. As a Governor in a previous life (and now a Governor somewhere else again having said I wouldn't be) we tried to take the school to a better place with an appointment that should have been all things to all men but turned out to be armageddon.

As a result of the fall out from that appointment the school itself is now in an incredible position with an incredible group of people (i'm sorry to say I presided over the decline but am delighted to say they're over the other side without me being there)

The truth of the matter is that if the school had not waded through the swamp it would never have gotten to the place it is now and that pattern seems to be repeated time and time again.

I guess this is just a lesson in life because when you resolve to go to a better place you better be prepared to go to a worse place first.
