The Soft Tissue Grafting Workshop at the Campbell Academy provides detailed information and instruction on using soft tissue augmentation in implant dentistry and other disciplines.
Rajan will delve into the techniques and indications for the use of grafts in implant surgery, encompassing both autograft materials from a patient’s connective tissue and free epithelial grafts, as well as biomaterial alternatives using Geistlich products, Fibro-Gide and Mucograft.
The Soft Tissue Grafting Workshop provides implant dentists with a thorough and practical understanding of soft tissue management in implant dentistry. This course focuses on equipping delegates with the essential skills and knowledge to enhance and support improved outcomes in soft tissue management during surgical procedures. With a significant hands-on component, the workshop helps participants understand the indications for clinical use of soft tissue grafting. It ensures they gain practical skills immediately applicable to their daily practice.
Following this workshop, delegates will:
Enhance Clinical Competence
Equip implant dentists with basic competencies in free gingival and connective tissue grafting techniques to handle a variety of clinical scenarios around dental implants.
Improve Aesthetic Outcomes
Provide instruction on the aesthetic considerations and clinical execution of soft tissue grafts that can significantly enhance the aesthetic and functional outcomes of dental implants.
Increase Patient Satisfaction
Foster skills that lead to higher patient satisfaction through improved clinical results, particularly in implant longevity, preventive approaches to peri-implant health, and aesthetic integration.
Expand Treatment Options
Broaden the range of treatment options available to implant dentists by incorporating both autogenous and biomaterials for soft tissue augmentation, catering to diverse patient needs and clinical situations.
Watch specialists Rajan Nansi and Mahomed Issa introduce the Soft Tissue Grafting around Dental Implants Workshop and explain what makes this hands-on course a must for dentists starting their implant journey.

Rajan shares an equal passion for both periodontal plastic surgery techniques, including managing gingival recession around teeth, and soft tissue augmentation procedures around dental implants.
He has served on the BSP Council and the Scientific Affairs Committee of the European Federation of Periodontology. He is on the BSP Faculty, their East Midlands Representative and an educator on the Periocourses team. Rajan was also involved as a participant in the BSP workshop while developing the S3 guidelines for treating periodontitis and the prevention and treatment of peri-implant diseases.
Mahomed graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2007. Since then, he has been dedicated to developing his skills and delivering the highest standard of care. His professional journey began in 2008 when he was awarded the Diploma of Joint Dental Faculties from The Royal College of Surgeons, London (MJDF). Mahomed’s focus has been on promoting and providing patients with a strong foundation in oral health, subsequently building and rehabilitating their smiles and their function. This interest led him to Periodontology, and in 2009, he commenced a three-year Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology at The University of Sheffield, which he completed with Merit in 2012. Following further training, he was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Periodontics.
Dentistry is a passion for Mahomed, and he has held a variety of positions across the Midlands in both General Practice and Hospital settings. General practice has enabled him to gain experience across all facets of dentistry, allowing him to provide comprehensive care for his patients. He has worked as an Honorary Speciality Doctor at Glenfield Hospital in his hometown of Leicester, and as a Clinical Teacher in Restorative Dentistry at The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, contributing to the Periodontology and Restorative Departments.
