Just a short tip of the hat once again to Stuffocation, the book recommended by Chris Navarro.
There is a lovely story in the book by the author and a conversation with his Grandfather immediately before he died where his Grandfather gave him £5 (enough for two pints in those days) and told him that memories live longer than dreams and to go and make some memories.
Think about it… you know it’s true. It’s not really the new car is it, it’s what you do in the new car. It’s not where you are on holiday, it’s who you’re with and what happens. You can think about something you are going to do for ages but when it’s done it bursts like a bubble but your thoughts and memories of the good things last forever.
There is a difference between materialism and experientialism and in the book and I think for me, we are moving towards the experience over the material.
