Learning from first world problems

So, most of the blogs in the last little while have been in or around a trip to Majorca cycling, which was amazing and a privilege travelling with two of my favourite people in the whole world, Craig and Alex.

Alex looks after everybody and is one of the most considerate people you could ever find, but Craig is different.

Craig has a perspective on the world which is beautiful, calming and wonderful.

Craig is God effectively in his work.

If you have head and neck cancer, he can cure you or not cure you and therefore, it's back to that old Stephen Westaby quote about there are two people in the world that can cure you now, God or me, and I've asked God, and he's not available.

Because of Craig's job and his work (a lot like Alison's), he's able to just create an aura around himself where the day-to-day bits of sh*t just don't really seem to eat away his character or his brightness or the light that he shines out.

And so when his bike was left in Glasgow by Jet2, and he turned up on a cycle trip, he just made it work and made the best of it, and there's a massive lesson to all of us about that.

The more comfortable we get, the less we're able to deal with minor bits of discomfort.

Craig continues to teach me month on month and year on year how easy it is to see past first-world problems, which are not really problems at all.
