How Long Does it Take to Become an Implant Dentist

The route that will take you to your goal fastest is the route that suits you best_a).jpg

To become an implant dentist it takes as long as it does to become a professional footballer, a violinist or a cyclist. If you practice (purposely) implant dentistry 20 hours a week, it takes 10 years to become world class. If you practice 40 hours a week it might take 5. If you practice for 5 hours a week carefully and respectfully for 5 years the likelihood is you will become competent. The problem is, you need the numbers of patients and the advice on which areas to direct yourself to reach that goal in 5 years.

The pathway to become a world-class violinist (or even a competent violinist) is probably different for every single performer and the same applies to implant dentistry. One size does not fit all but from our point of view at The Campbell Academy we believe a good average is 5 years from no implants, to 50 implants per year; working systematically through straightforward implant learning, advanced implant learning and eventually complex implant dentistry. The route that will take you to your goal fastest is the route that suits you best. This can only be undertaken either by trial and error or by obtaining some really good advice. We would love to try and give you that advice, why not get in touch.
