That's the excuse that we all use for doing the things that are bad for us.
It's the patient who's just had cancer surgery who rolls outside in their wheelchairs and smokes a cigarette at the main entrance, and then when their surgeon sees them on their way out, they say, "Well, you've got to live, doc".
It's like me drinking beer on the cycle trip, telling myself a story that I'm on holiday, so I should be able to drink and also ride my bike, but forgetting that obviously drinking really affects the way you ride your bike.
You do have to live; it just depends on what your definition of live is.
