The weight of anecdotes

“We don't talk about specific cases”

Those are the words of the politician when you bring up the horror that's happened to someone as they go through some aspect of public services, which isn't supposed to be right.

When we look at one place or look at the other at the moment in this country it seems like we hear story after story after story of things that are breaking or not going on.

For me it's the NHS; that's where I'm closest to lots and lots of friends and family that work in that environment.

NHS healthcare is in terrible trouble.

I know this because of the weight of anecdote; it's not one person telling me it's a problem, it's every single person, it’s my Mum, my Dad, my Brother, and my Children, as they try to access different parts of care, my wife, as she works within that service, my friends who are deep, deep in, in decades-long careers.

It's not going to get any better.

If your business is cantered around working with the NHS then make arrangements to diversify now so that at least some of your income can be generated from somewhere else.

You have to do this because everyone else is already doing that.
