The joy of small achievement

As I look back on these marvellous 2 weeks, I've had off work, I'm trying to think to myself, what are the best things that happened to make it marvellous? What are the greatest things I've done? What made it good?

I realised it was just a collection of tiny little things. Riding on my bike on a day-by-day basis, not so far and not so fast, and in a not so grand way, nothing epic, just repetitive, falling asleep with my dogs on the sofa watching Derry Girls with Rosie, going out for dinner once or twice with my family, or meeting friends who I didn't use that time to me.

It wasn't going to great places and having photographs taken beside extraordinary things; it was just the little things.

As I go back to work, chasing the dream of this or that or the glory of something else, it's always best to remember that most of my contentment comes from the sand in the jar, not the pebbles.
