Tomorrow morning, when I am writing this around about 9 a.m., I'll stand up to do a day's teaching in Dublin.
For the first time ever, I'll be speaking at the Extreme Business 100 hosted by Chris Barrow.
This marks the start of 7 gigs around the country over the summer in Dublin, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Leeds.
I'm actually a substitute, a replacement for Prav Solanki, who was unable to make it for personal reasons, and so I stepped in relatively last minute.
It marks, though, the opportunity for me to take a step into the Chris Barrow world after our businesses came together, under the auspices of The Campbell Academy in April of this year.
It gives me the opportunity to ‘step out of the shadows’ for the first time
The Extreme Business and Chris's coaching business has been such an extraordinary facilitator in dentistry for all of these past decades.
We first met together in 2010 (ish) on recommendation from a mutual friend and client. For 18 months, Chris intensively coached both the businesses that I had at that time and catapulted us to a level that we could not have ever dreamed of without his intervention and help.
We would touch base with Chris every so often following that for years until we started to work more formally together, and then, until recently, Chris decided that it was time for him to move to a situation where a greater infrastructure and greater assistance could help scale up his influence over dental business, combined with our influence over dental business.
Changes are often challenging and difficult, and that can always be the case when businesses come together as operations collide from different angles.
For example, we are a Slack business, and all of our communications happen on Slack, but Chris wasn't doing that before, and so that'll take a bit of time to recover.
Also, we are a massive delegation business, and so we empower people in their roles to be able to make decisions and make choices without having to repeatedly ask other people for permission.
For someone who was running a small business like Chris, who saw every single aspect of his business every day, all the time, that will be difficult and challenging, but he'll get there because he's super clever and super adaptable.
The benefits, though, are potentially untold and extraordinary; with the infrastructure that we have, the facility development that we have, together with our IT and our reach, we're now in a position to be able to help more and more and more people improve their dental business, improve the lives of their families, their teams and their patients.
The Campbell Academy is a champion of the independent dental practitioner; we have educated hundreds and hundreds of people to make them better and to be able to offer services to their patients that they could not do before.
We've been teaching in the dental business sphere for 10 years and tied up with Chris and the power of Chris's knowledge and his reach and his personality, we have a formidable force now for good moving forwards.
And so, what the Extreme Business and Chris's coaching business was before is finishing, but not to stop or to close, but to merge and to become better and bigger and more influential.
As they say in the Kingsman movies, “This is not the end, and it's not even the beginning of the end, but it might be the end of the beginning”.
What The Campbell Academy provided for dental business and what Chris provided for dental business will alter and change as we fuse together, but we will be much, much greater than the sum of our parts, and the future is so exciting.
We would love you to come along. If you're interested in exploring how to be better at dental business, how to make a huge difference to all of your stakeholders, and how to join this journey with us.
Just hit reply; it will come straight to me, and I will be in touch very quickly.
