
It used to be a thing of magic, the ability to send this electronic communication at the speed of light. The comparison of that to a fax or a letter, or a pigeon, or a man on horseback with a scroll was just inconceivable, and now it's really the solution for anything.
I was scrolling down my horrendous inbox today, just as I was about to do the control and A and delete, and I saw a kind of spam email from someone who I know is likely to have a difficult 2026 in their business. It was basically one of those emails that says, “let's all make it a great 2026,” which actually means, please can you send me some business.
That's sad because I've been there, I know exactly how it feels.
When your business is starting to struggle in a time of cost of living crisis or whatever it is we're calling this recession that we're in that we don't call a recession.
It's too late when you notice now to send an email to try and save it; that won't work.
Interruption marketing interrupts people, and now people have no time for interruption.
If you didn't start building relationships 5 years ago, you're going to find the next bit a little tricky.
