Re-launch, reboot – TBOB re-imagined

TCA

After a conversation in 2016 with Gary Marvin, who then worked for Straumann, The Campbell Academy began providing a year long business course, for dentistry (Building The Modern, Independent Dental Practice).

Gary had wanted to know what I was doing with my time off in December and January of 2017 and I told him I was going to write some business blogs, which would form the basis of a business course, which would come to life some years from now.

He asked if I would put it on, on behalf of Straumann and in conjunction with Straumann, 6 months from our conversation.

We call it TBOB (The Business of Business) and it has taught us as much as it’s taught anyone who has come on the course. And I think that is a lot.

I cannot remember anyone who has come on that course who hasn’t made the money back and usually in the early modules of the course.

But as with all innovative and modern things, it’s needs re-imagined and re-invented.

One of the first things that we do on the course, is a project, “get to the why of your business”.

And so here is the TCC why.

“To positively influence as many people as possible, through the work that we do and the example that we set”.

In order to get the business course off the ground, it was subsidised, we were able to offer discounts to people off the baseline cost. Now we have a cost that we can redesign, which is more affordable to a larger group of people.

We want to influence as many people as possible and help them prove their organisations, so that they can work in a better way, with a better team, to the ends that they have set themselves.

In 2020, TBOB coursewill be set up for 16 practices.

16 practices with two people each, for £8,400 including VAT.That’s still a lot of money to invest, so what do you see for that.

  1. You get 12 days of intense inspiration, education, discussion and development.
  2. You have some really tough, online projects to complete which push you on and move you to another place (and that has been proven to work).
  3. You get a huge range of speakers, material and topics on marketing, finance, human resources, leadership, strategy.
  4. You get to bring different members of your team related to different subjects, that are working in your business.
  5. You get books to go with it, which tie into every single module.
  6. You get a fantastic discussion platform, which continues after the course and helps you talk about problems and issues in a safe place, where there are no ego’s and no one trying to “get one over” on other people.

Historically the marketing module alone, has saved the price of the course multiple times, for each of the attending practices.

The finance module is a revelation to everybody who attends.

The speakers on the course include Steve Booth (Straumann MD), Chris Barrow (Business Coach), Brenda Nelson (Marketing), Adam Hampson (Creative Director of Cosmetic Digital), Brendon MacDonald (Inbound Marketing Strategist), Sara Symington (Performance Director at England Netball), Mark Topley (CSR Coach), members of staff from The Campbell Clinic and Academy and also some previous delegates of our courses.

It’s a coming together of some really clever people in dentistry (and outside of dentistry), who are able to help push practices forwards to the next step and to significantly increase the financial success, the enjoyment and the satisfaction of owning a practice.

This year’s course is re-imagined and re-envisioned for a new environment and will be held entirely within The Campbell Clinic and The Campbell Academy facility.

If you’re looking to take the next step and to make your business better and to work smarter, not harder, this is where to find it.

We look forward to seeing you there.
