No you can’t

Jagger and Richards were right in 1969 when they released their classic track, 'You can't always get what you want'.

There's debate about what inspired the lyrics in the song at the end of the 60s in the disillusionment that the peace and love movement was dying and people were at war and the Americans were at war in Vietnam but it's more a social commentary, it's more trying to teach people that you can want as much as you want, but in the end what you really need is what you need.

If you catapult forward the decades to now, the urge for want is uncontrollable, and the ability to finance or obtain anything you want almost instantaneously has driven us to distraction.

We've lost our connection, we've lost our meaning, we've lost the ability to be satisfied.

I've listened to this song since I was a boy back in the early 80s. I keep going back to it time and time again, even from that time, even more and more now.

It's entirely true, but it's worth reading it one more time, just to remind yourself you can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you just might find you get what you need.

That is what you need, not what you want.
