Just less, nothing else..

I buy things from Amazon, just like you.

It's so easy, convenient and mostly cheap.

It comes quickly.

I don’t really want to because I know (first-hand) that the stories about the warehouses and the tax dodging and the rest of it are true, but I still do it.

I still eat Cadbury’s in spite of the slave connotations and palm oil.

I’m trying to be better and have my eyes opened more; I’m trying to do less bad and more good.

I’m trying to leave it (whatever it is) a little better than I found it.

Amazon gets worse again, though, just like Google before them.

Seth wrote about it here

I can’t go cold turkey, not yet (although a trip to Dornoch in Sutherland to my spiritual home shows me it might be possible).

What I can do is less.

Buy less, eat less, drink less, consume less.

Not for net zero or the planet or to save money (although they are all great reasons to), but for happiness and contentment.

Jeff Bezos is a crook; so are the guys at McDonald's.

If you saw them face to face in a market stall, you probably wouldn’t buy from them.

Don’t do the right thing, do the better thing. Every time you go to click, just think and don’t half the time.

A drop of 50% would definitely get Jeff’s attention and change his behaviour, but there is no way you or I will achieve it.

Personal contentment and happiness are inversely linked to overconsumption.

So if its not to save the world let it be for us. For me and you.

No unconscious consumption because its never a victimless crime.

Go for a walk, its free, you’ll live longer too.
