You can fix some of the people, some of the time.
But you can't fix all of the people all of the time.
In fact, it's probably impossible to fix some of the people all of the time, and it's definitely, definitely not possible to fix all of the people some of the time.
You can help someone to fix themselves, but without them, they cannot be fixed if they do not want to be.
For many people, and particularly for people who work in healthcare, we consider ourselves to be rescuers.
It's always, always essential to put your own oxygen mask on first, because if you are not fixed, it is very, very unlikely you can encourage or show someone else how they might be fixed.
