This blog takes me to extraordinary places and has led me to meet and interact with extraordinary people (This year, I received an email in reply to a blog post in Spanish - I don't speak Spanish, but I Google translated what was said in Spanish and it was so beautiful and kind and wonderful).

Last week, someone came up to me at the dinner I had after I was teaching all day and told me that they read this almost every day (I'm sorry if I don't reference you by name; you know who you are, thanks so much that is so kind).

One of the greatest parts of the blog is to research what you're writing about, even just quickly.

I pay for Wikipedia. I donate to them every year because I use them so much in relation to this, finding my way through different subjects and ensuring I have at least a passing understanding of what I'm talking about.

This is my form of research; although we provide clinical research at the practice, and I understand that I have to understand some aspects of clinical research, finding out about the things that you're interested in and relaying those to other people is such an extraordinary privilege, such an extraordinary hobby.

And so, now we are seven from 4000 blogs, and we're going to talk in the next few blogs about the book that Stuart and I are doing. I promised you 500 blogs ago, but it is a little bit delayed.

That book is full of the thoughts, feelings, and research that has happened over those 4000 days.

I hope you'll be interested in it, it's really, really, really exclusive and restricted.

There will be roughly 200 copies ever produced, and all money raised from their sale will go to charity.

More of that later, I'm off to do some more research on the blog post that's coming tomorrow.
