Since I became involved in implant dentistry in the late 1990’s I have been a devotee of Professor Daniel Buser of the University of Bern.
Danny Buser was involved with the ITI dental implant system, which then became the Straumann dental implant system, in the very early stages.
He worked for Professor Andre Schroeder at the University of Bern and Professor Schroeder developed the ITI dental implant system.
Danny Buser took over the mantle of Danny Buser as one of the senior clinicians within the ITI following his retirement and then subsequent death. He has been at the forefront of research in implant dentistry ever since. He is currently the President of the ITI Worldwide, the author of numerous articles and text books and a pioneer in the audio visual teaching elements in implant dentistry, in particular the audio visual set up at the University of Bern is second to none and allows filming of surgical procedures to make teaching of implant dentistry much more straightforward.
Buser is a fantastic lecturer, I have seen him on many occasions now and never fail to take something away from his sessions.
I am therefore delighted to announce that Danny Buser will be lecturing for the Nottingham ITI Study Club on the 29th August 2012 at The Riverbank in Nottingham. We have been able to set this study club up in conjunction with the ITI Study Clubs in Nottingham and Leicester, Grantham and Derby. I am very grateful to Darren Bywater, Graham Hancox and Jason Wong for becoming involved in this.
I was delighted to receive confirmation from Danny Buser when I discussed it with him on a Skype call recently but I have to say that I was amazed that the accepted the invitation to come. He is an enormously busy guy with numerous commitments and it will be absolutely fantastic to have him in Nottingham for what will probably be a once only opportunity.
If you are interested in attending the ITI Study Club in Nottingham, please contact me and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening.
