In keeping with the stuff I have written on the blog before about failure management and resilience, I would hate you to think that everything always runs smoothly where I work and that everyday is ‘gambling through the daisies in the sunshine’.
Recently Hayley (my exceptional Practice Manager) went off on maternity leave and soon afterwards one of our members of staff decided it was time to move along back to the type of employment they had previously which was, for various reasons, more suitable for them.
It leaves us in the position of seeking another member of staff for our growing team and the description of that is listed below. Before you get to that it is important to know that these opportunities are amazing for the right person. It’s an opportunity almost to ‘design a job’ around the requirements of what we have at the practice.
Previous experience in dentistry is really not essential, much more important is attitude and emotional intelligence, to be able to deal with people and lead by example. To be resilient, overcome difficulties and problems and always come to work with a smile on your face.
The personal spec is listed below for what we’re calling our ‘Patient Contact / Office Manager’ (I didn’t want to just call it an Office Manager because that sounds really boring!)
Please pass this along. It would suit anybody of any age and any circumstance with the right attitude. It might well be a great starting point for a new graduate to get into a growing young business. It might well be a great opportunity for someone returning from maternity leave or anybody else from any walk of life.
We would love to hear from anybody who might be interested and please don’t be scared or shy, everybody will be considered.
Patient Contact / Office Manager at The Campbell Clinic in Nottingham
The Campbell Clinic is the largest (by Specialists) Specialist Practice in the Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln area. Our stated aim is to provide care to our patients ‘like a member of our own family’ and for both clinical care and patient experience to be exceptional at all times.
The role that has become available involves managing an existing office and front of house team. You would be someone who revels in personal interaction, who loves to meet and greet people, to get to know them and talk to them and make them feel at ease. You would be able to set an exceptional standard to the rest of the team.
Dental experience is not strictly necessary (it may be helpful or it may not) but an understanding of what patients might be going through and the ability to empathise is essential.
Your IT skills would be really good, if not exceptional.
You would have a very big smile and be able to bring it to work every single day.
You would be the type of person who stands at the ends of the checkouts and helps other people pack their bags, packing three bags at once and not one.
You would have an instinct to help people wherever possible and a burning urge to help develop a team.
Over the next few weeks we will be interviewing for this position which will be full time with a starting salary in the region of £21,000 per year.
If you are interested please send us a CV or anything else you think might impress us enough to give you an interview!
