As expressed before in this blog I have a strong belief that patients do us a favour by turning up to see us and it is not the other way around.
This thought came to me recently when my little boy had his first ever golf club bought for him by my brother-in-law and with which he is absolutely in love.
There was a sticker on the shaft of the golf club which was meaningless. It wasn’t a brand sticker, it was a barcode probably for traceability of the gold club in a warehouse or something like that but the sticker doesn’t come off. We have picked and peeled and tried everything to get the sticker off but it is stuck on with something so tenacious that some sort of mark will be left, probably forever.
Why do they do that? Whoever made the golf club did that for their own convenience without any thought for their customer. There would be other ways to tag it but they have done the easiest, cheapest thing, which has spoiled the product in the long term. They have done themselves a favour.
