When you experience heartache (and this is not just the GDC thing but that does contribute) and when you survive and can lift your head up again then the sky is more blue, the air is much clearer, the happiness much happier (and the sadder much sadder) the laughter is louder and the trees are more beautiful. Everything is clearer.

If you happen to be in a bad place at the moment, it is ok because it is just preparing you for being in a good place.
