Authentic v Eccentric

Probably the 'most successful' people you see are deemed to be the most eccentric.

It seems though that one of the most important skills or personality traits to have to be 'successful' is to be disagreeable. People who refuse to accept the status quo. People who question the norm. People who are prepared to run with something new and make a mistake knowing that it will take them to a more interesting, more fulfilling place.

In a world where everything is a KFC, where every website looks the same, where every inbox is full of 2000 spam emails hoping to 0.01% click through rate. For eccentric read authentic.

All I want from the people that I do business with or interact with is for them to give a shit.

I want to feel as if they are looking at me in the face and being honest with me.

I want to feel as if they're trying their best to help me.

I will work with anybody who can do that but I will fall out with the others who don't.

I am not some number on your spreadsheet and I do not exist to make sure you have the biggest profit to report to your board. I would rather the organisation be small and authentic (and a bit eccentric) than large and out of touch.

I will always aim to maintain my eccentricity.
