Snow White and The Huntsmen
So I managed to do what I said and see Snow White and the Huntsmen to compare it to Mirror Mirror, which I saw with my kids.
In the blog post about Mirror Mirror I talked about how it was a fantastic, fairytale, fantasy story: a classic version of the tale and how it should be.
Snow White and The Huntsmen was the adults version – it was grubby, grimy, upsetting, hard and dark and it was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t help but think that this is how the story actually panned out (I realise it didn’t actually happen at all!) but if it did it would have been like this. It wouldn’t have been the squeaky clean Julia Roberts version but the barbed, rough edged version of the story that this is.
It was only scarred a little bit by the Huntsman’s pseudo-Scottish accent (which was rubbish and I am qualified to say that) but other than that, it is a great film and one, which I thoroughly recommend.
