In the middle of the overwhelm, when the lists are enormous and you think you're not going to get to the end, when there are deadlines you're not going to meet, and that's going to be problematic for one reason or another.

It's often best to remember that almost all the time, nobody actually cares. 

Everybody else has deadlines, stresses, and troubles to bear, except in the most extreme circumstances. It doesn't matter if you don't get that project done if you don't type that email, or if you don't phone that person or hand that thing in. Go home, have a rest, come back tomorrow, and try again.

Nobody's really that bothered about the sh*t that we're up to.

Ultimately, they'll probably step over us to get to the next one, so doing your best with what you have is always the only way forward.
