For Marie.........

I like to think our practice in Nottingham has become like a family.  Various members of my team take on various roles and we all look out for each other as much as we can.  Sure…..we have our disagreements like all families to but the majority of the time we are all pulling together in the same direction. It wasn’t always like this………. In 2008 I came to the practice in very short order after finding out that the practices I had worked in for 11 years were being sold to IDH in 3 weeks time. As you can imagine that was a really stressful time for me and I needed some people around me that I knew and trusted and that I could totally rely on.  In steps Marie.  We had been working together for about a year (since her first day training as a dental nurse after leaving UPS and taking a 50% pay cut).  She had come to work suffering from pleurisy, become totally loyal, amazing hard working and just brilliant to work with.  I asked her to leave the job she had and come and work with me somewhere new, to take a punt. She was brave enough and she did and she became the senior dental and implant nurse at what was then Campbell and Peace.  It was clear though, that she had a flair of creativity and I managed to convince her out of surgery and into the role of marketing/PA for me.  She is now our marketing manager and manages all of that and the whole budget for this. Our practice has grown massively since Marie and in 2008 (turnover is up almost 10x since then) and Marie has come to represent everything that we are about in attitude, work ethic and attention to detail.  She has grown as a tema member and as a person and become one of our “linchpins”. The reason for posting this is the occasion of Marie’s wedding on May 24th 2014 to Lee, a top guy who really looks after her, they are obviously soulmates. I am truly delighted that our little “Princess” has found her Prince because she has given so much to our practice and contributed hugely to its success. For those of you that don’t know, I write every word of every blog that is published,………  on a Dictaphone.  It is Marie who makes it look good, who makes sure it goes out and who tells me what is rubbish and not fit to publish. It is for that reason I thought it was fitting for me to take the time and make the effort to write, type, set, schedule and publish this one myself as one of the wedding presents for Marie.  All of us at The Campbell Clinic really hope you have a brilliant day, you really deserve it. From me though, I just want to publically say thank you, for believing, for staying with it and for making a difference.I wish you both happiness, health and a long marriage full of life and fun.   Colin x
