The True Cost of Dental Implant Courses

It must be terrible these days when people look at the huge array of possible implant education courses that exist allowing practitioners to start their careers or reinvigorate their careers in implant dentistry. The quality, content and most importantly cost of the courses vary dramatically. To choose which course is the correct one for each individual is a really daunting task. As always cheapest might not be the best, the cost of the course often reflects the quality of the experience provided for the individual. Anybody looking at these should seek out what they hope to achieve by the end and make sure that the course provides that. If the correct course is chosen and a practitioner is allowed to implement the skills and the knowledge into their own practice to build an implant service then the rewards are enormous. If a year or more is wasted on a course that doesn’t provide a practitioner this then it is almost back to stage 1.

For somebody starting out from scratch it is essential to learn the basics and to be safe and competent in straightforward implant dentistry. For someone with more experience it may be different.

The real cost of an implant course is in the time spent by the individual making the most of the resources available. The Campbell Academy courses include lecture notes, online discussion programmes between modules for delegates to continue to communicate, live demonstrations and live surgery sessions that allow delegates to place implants into their own prepared patients.

The quality and experience of speakers is essential, to be able to mentor and guide delegates towards placing implants in their own practice is almost invaluable. We are fully aware of the fact that there are less expensive courses than The Campbell Academy Year Implant Course in implant dentistry and courses which may be in a more favourable geographical position; the question I would ask if I was looking for courses for myself would not be ‘can I afford to do this course’ it would be ‘can I afford not to do this course if intend to take this on as part of my practice and career for the rest of my working life?’
