Bringing Implants Into my Practice – Where do I Start?

For a considerable amount of principles in UK dentistry, over several generations, the implant opportunity has passed them by. These practitioners never managed to ‘get on the implant treadmill’ and for many who spent time not only developing their practice but other clinical skills and abilities to grow teams, it seems like the opportunity to involve themselves into implant dentistry had been missed.

Many guys who find themselves in their 40’s and 50’s wondered if there is any point in taking on a new skill as they look with one eye towards the opportunity to ‘get out’. Developing a dental implant service can be the perfect motivation and stimulation to reinvigorate a career and become much more engaged in dentistry again; leading to a longer, happier career. The benefits of a successful implant service are easy to see.

  1. A more enthused principle who is able to provide high level treatments and more satisfaction

  1. An engaged team who have developed their skills in line with the implant service

  1. Happier patients who do not have to be referred out of practice but who can continue within the same practice, being treated by the same trusted team

  1. Financial stability and growth within the practice to invest in all of the above, both in facilities, training and rewards

At The Campbell Academy we believe that it is essential to set dentists on a pathway where they can place 50 implants a year or more. This helps to provide the ability to train the team, train the individuals and the financial resources to kit out the implant service properly.
