Many years ago, Seth Godin wrote a book called Linchpin.

We've used it as an induction tool at the practice for many people, many times over the years.

The thing about being a linchpin or trying to be a linchpin is that if you do that, almost everything else falls into place.

How can I be the best version of myself in order to be indispensable to the people that I care about?

It means that you become better, and it becomes better, and they become better, and we all become better; no one is indispensable, ever, but that shouldn't stop you from trying to be indispensable.

Lynchpins are the most valuable people, financially, emotionally, and reputationally.

I don't think you find linchpins.

I think you help empower people to become linchpins.
