I had the great privilege of being able to say what I wanted when I was speaking and lecturing to people for some years and one of the best things is to speak to young dentists even in DFT or in other environments or also to dental students and explain to them what my philosophical approach is to stuff and in particular to my career and my life outside of work.
One of the things that I always get back to and say is “Your work exists to give you the life you want”.
2020 changed all of that for almost everybody who was trying to achieve that because in order to keep their work in some sort of even keel they had to work harder and longer than ever to overcome the difficulties and disturbances that they encountered.
None less than me.
Now comes a time to start to reverse that again and to get back to a situation where work is a critical and wonderful part of my life but not the only part of my life.
Essential to do this for myself, essential to do this for my family but also essential to do this because I always said that this is what is important and otherwise it would be breaking a promise.
