It's not the work that I love the most (I do get some satisfaction out of the actual doing of the work, but not as much as you might think); it's the people I do it with.
It's the patients whose stories I get to hear, which are fascinating and interesting and deep and rich and enhance my life when I hear them.
It's the team that I work with, the stories of that team, but also the things that we share: successes, the disasters, all of that journey through the direction we're travelling.
It's the delegates that we meet on courses and see the change in them and how they advance and improve and how their lives get better through education and the sharing of that education with the people that they meet.
It's the people that I get to work with in teaching, people who I've become friends with over 25 years of this, that I would never have otherwise known or been given the chance to spend the time with.
It's not really about the work, is it?
It's always about the people that you share the work with.
