When you throw seeds out for opportunities.
When you sink hooks, that you think are attractive, asking people to bite.
They never come incrementally.
You wait and wait for the ‘sleepers’ to wake and if and when they do, they wake at once.
You go months without any opportunities coming your way and then all of sudden there are dozens.
In the excitement of accepted opportunities, the ability to select and reject, to run forwards with some and to politely decline the others is the only place where sanity lives.
Accepting everything all at once is a short route to death.
First is a tick then there’s another tick and then there’s a BOOM!
