I’m 51 and have never yet known anyone in my family live to 90.

So, I'm well over halfway through and I'm deteriorating on a week by week and month by month basis (at least that's the theory anyway).

And so, I'm losing my youth, but there is no doubt that I have gained wisdom.

The only value in the wisdom is to be able to make sense of the fact that although it's inevitable to lose your youth, there are things that can replace it and things that can be deeper and greater and better if you can see them and if you can figure it out.

It's a difficult set of scales, isn't it?

You'll know that if you're anywhere in my situation.

We have no choice but to navigate that, but we can do it with a smile on our face.
