The test

Often it’s a test, and the person blows up at you.

When they come at you for something that you feel is unfair or irrelevant or excessive, they’re testing you.

They’re saying to you “I have this big old heap of trouble and I need somewhere to put it”.

Pushing back against them and telling them what a terrible person they are or all of the things they’ve done wrong in the past is unlikely to solve the problem.

If you care about the person in front of you or even have a duty of care for that person, it’s probably best to take the sting out of the situation and think “how do I help you sort that problem”.

They’re testing you to see if you are who you say you are.

Walk your talk.
