The scientific vacuum

The problem with science is that it takes a while to get the science.

As the world moves ever faster so we don’t have time for this and in fact opportunities can be constructed out of the lag between thinking something works and proving that it does.

In the absence of something objective which is pretty solid we end up with ego and arrogance and self-interest (for self-interest read corporate interest) it would be nice to think that in the end objective science will win but that may not be the case.

It still has to be better though to do the right thing rather than continue to feather your own nest at the expense of everyone else.
