I've thought a lot about enablement over the past 3-4 months and so much so that I'd managed to convince myself that I invented the word until I searched for it on Google and realised it was already a word.
And so, enablement is when people facilitate other people to be better than they were before.
It is a beautiful concept.
It's fine for us to try to be famous or to do our best work or to make the biggest difference but when we understand that the best way to do all of that is to enable other people to be the best that they can be and to understand that this is what makes the greatest difference to the world around us, there is huge peace in that.
I’m not suggesting that I'm not going to try to be a better version of myself from now until I'm finished whatever that means.
What I’m suggesting is that more and more of my job is to enable other people not to enable myself.
