The memory desert

One of the things that makes life so special is the ability to look back at wonderful things that you have done.

Sadly, I think the majority of us have not been getting that quite right over the last couple of months.

Sure you’ll be able to look back with your anxiety or your discomfort or how hard you worked but where is the joy, where are the flags in the sand that look back to say “I did this”.

You will never look back and wish you’d watched more Netflix (I know that I wont and I have watched too much) you will never look back and wish you’d rested a bit more.

Some people achieved some brilliant things in the middle of this, raising money for charity or helping out other people but many others just stagnated and continue to stagnate and that is not the way out of this.

For me at least it’s time to kick up a gear again.

I don’t want to look back a year from now and say, “that was the worst year of my life”.

It will just be a different year, a year unlike other years but I’ve already started to put things tentatively in my diary where I will meet people and do things that I will remember forever in the midst of everything else that goes on.

I suggest you start to do the same to.
