The comfort in discomfort

We have two ways to do it: don't we avoid the discomfort and seek out the comfort?

Watch your world constrict; watch the walls come in as things get smaller and smaller as we accept fewer risks or embrace discomfort.

Travelling over the last week or so has reminded me of that again.

Travelling is uncomfortable.

If you have the money, you can chuck money at it to solve the problem, or you can figure it out and be a little bit uncomfortable with the uncertainty of where you're going and what you're doing.

The second way, 'letting things happen to you', is the most exciting, most exhilarating, most wonderful thing.

The other way to do it is to remove any of the unexpected, but isn't it the unexpected that we're actually looking for?

Isn't that what actually gives us joy?
