On the 5th December the Campbell Clinic arrived at the Playhouse Theatre pantomime in Nottingham. This year was Sleeping Beauty.

This panto is an institution and the writer and star of the show plays the dame, has done for years, and is a comedy genius.

It’s not the most glamorous or wealthiest or most elaborate pantomimes, but it’s in the Playhouse Theatre which is ‘the peoples theatre’ and it’s awesome.

On the 5thDecember we took 50 people to the panto as part of our Referrer Liaison Coordinator group, where we look after our referral dental practitioners as best as we possibly can.

What is the point of this?

We were surrounded by 10 friends of the practice who have supported and helped us and their children or friends that they brought with them.

Is this marketing?

Is this branding?

Is this just a night amongst friends and people who work together?

Collaboration is working together for the benefit of all, and if we are doing well enough to be able to invite people who we collaborate with to bring their kids to the pantomime at the start of December then that is joy, and that is success as far as I am concerned within my business.

Every one’s life is busy, particularly in December but the panto always fills. I took Alison and two of our children (Rosie was ill so I took Rosie’s boyfriend too) and we had a great night, shouting, laughing, singing and clapping hands.

Two seats down from me in the pantomime was a little boy with special needs who had hearing aids in both ears.

It would have been worth the cost of taking 50 people to the pantomime to watch his reaction that evening and to see the joy he had.

That was part of my work.

Thanks to all those that came, we look forward to doing it again next year if we still have the chance to and hope it leads to further collaboration which brings better things.
