How do you cross the chasm?
How do you cross the gap from here to there, from where you are now to the better place you wish to get to?
Earlier this week, I was listening to Folklore by Taylor Swift.
A line in one of the songs talks about having to bleed to grow, and we all understand that that is the case, don't we?
We all understand that "No pain, no gain".
We have to invest to get better.
Last week, Rony Jung was here for the third time, presenting our University of Zurich global Masterclass.
In fact, this course has received so much attention that we also filmed parts of it for a global webinar for Geistlich, which was pretty successful for us.
The essence of that course is that it demystifies some of the complexity of implant dentistry, from healing sockets to tissue preservation to immediate implants and to straightforward reconstruction of implants with predictability that somebody else has measured, counted, and investigated, so you can take the knowledge and go away.
That is kind of the essence of what our Year Three Course is all about, of which the Rony Jung Masterclass forms part of.
Some of the people just come on that course and, but the majority of the guys on that course are part of our Year three cohort, and Year Three is designed to cross the gap.
It's relatively straightforward to teach someone to do straightforward dental implants if they are committed. It's a little bit harder to get to the advanced level, but the gap from advanced to being good at complex is large, and it's like the law of diminishing returns; it takes much more effort to move a small way.
What Year Three gives our guys here is the chance to talk to each other for over a year about how to cross the gap.
It gives them a chance to talk to us.
It gives us all the chance to share cases that have gone right and gone wrong, to look at the things that we're planning now and to talk to each other at length about what we think exceptional complex implant dentistry looks like and how we can try to deliver it.
To be clear there are absolutely no correct answers here there are many, many ways to skin a cat like this, But that's the point, isn't it, that's the joy, isn't it?
And that's what Rony Jung brings through his Masterclass!
