Stay within the lines

For a few days now, I've been playing the ''corporate game'', doing a little bit of work for a very big company that wants me to stay within the lines, basically, do as I'm asked, and at the end, I'll get some beans in my pocket.

That security, that safety, that direction, it works well for some people, people who get anxious about change or who just need to know what the rules are like to stay within the lanes and play the game until the final whistle, when they can go home and go to bed.

For other people, though, for people like me, it doesn't work.

It's a challenge to my values to always have to stay within the lines.

I like to stray off the path and see what's over there or there; it doesn't matter if there's a reward or not, less still if it increases my earnings per share or the dividend to my shareholders.

I'm just quite happy to explore and be curious.

Things that go wrong are equally as valid as things that go right, but not when you stay within the lines in the corporate world.
