The Campbell Academy has been hosting and running Master Classes and ITI Study clubs for years now. It’s fair to say that we have had some extraordinarily high-quality speakers and ‘punched way about our weight’.
The list of past speakers gets greater and more impressive as the years go by. They’ve included Michael Bornstein, Charlotte Stilwell, Professor John Gibson to name a few.
In their way, all of these guys have been extraordinary, but certainly none more so than Rob Oretti who presented last week, for 7 hours during the day and 2 and a bit hours in the evening. I’ve known Rob (from a distance) for some years through the ITI but was never really aware of his teaching portfolio or his clinical ability in the meetings that we had in dark rooms in London where the egos bounced off the walls.
Since selling his practice in the last few years he has been able to increase his teaching commitments and people are only now seeing, on a wider basis, the extraordinary work he has been carrying out in Newbury in his purpose-built practice Pentangle since 2006 (long before that and for the past 20 years in implant dentistry).
Rob is a very rare breed indeed.
He examines for the Royal College of surgeons (you don’t get paid much for that).
He logs his work obsessively and in extraordinary detail.
He is the highest level of operator both surgically and prosthetically.
He is an extraordinarily good teacher able to simplify complex concepts and also demonstrate to people how to move towards the top of the pyramid in a safe and secure way.
I wasn’t able to attend the all-day Master Class (I have a proper job) but the feedback from that class made me feel a bit sick that I hadn’t carved out the time to get there; but I did host the evening ITI study club. In less than two hours on that evening Rob Oretti changed my practice and there’s not many people who have attended to present at The Campbell Academy Master Classes that have done so, so dramatically and in such a short space of time.
If you get the opportunity to see this chap speak them take it regardless of the circumstances. You will not be disappointed, it will improve your practicing life.
If all else fails we’ve booked him for 2 days next year of lectures and hands on.
As with all The Campbell Academy courses those places will be limited to 20 and 6 of them have already gone (Dom, Gregor I’ve already taken the liberty of carving you out a place).
